BARACK OBAMA

Hello readers! The last two lessons we have been working on searching nobel prize winners and we have completed a table with all the winners between 2000 and 2012 on physics, chemistry, literature, peace, economics, phisiology and medicine. Now we have to chose the one that we think that is the most important from all the winners.

Barack Hussein Obama the 44th president of United States, became in 2009 the  Nobel Peace Prize winner for his extraordinari efforts to strenghten international diplomacy and cooperation between people. The Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the award on October 9, 2009. Obama accepted the prize in Oslo on the 10 December 2009. In a 36-minute speech, he discussed the tensions between war and peace and the idea of a "just war".

Obama was born on the 4th of August 1951 in Honolulu, a city of Hawaii. He is the first African American to hold the office of president of United States. But before that he has been a member of the Illnois senate from 1997 to 2004 and after that he became in the United States senator from Illnois.
In my opinion he is the most important winner because it is very difficult to win a Nobel Prize while you are being the president of the USA, this means that he has done things quite well during his presidency.
